Sizes, Space and What Your Home Needs

The first question almost everyone asks is whether there is room, and in most two-storey homes, there is. The footprint is closer to a large cupboard than a stairwell. What decides it is platform size, the number of landings, and where the lift can find a structural wall.

Platform size follows use. A compact model suits one or two people and a walking frame. A larger platform is needed for a wheelchair plus a carer.
What the lift needs. A pit of 50–100mm, one structural wall, and clear floor space at each landing.
What you arrange. You arrange a builder for the site preparation and an electrician for the dedicated circuit. Enclosed lifts also need an emergency phone line — a Telstra SIM is included for the first 12 months, then renewed annually.
What we handle. Design, supply, installation, commissioning and handover — with a written list of works for your builder before anything is ordered.

Residential Lift Installation, Step by Step

1. Initial Contact

Tell us the house, the levels and what you are trying to solve. We will tell you honestly whether a lift is the right answer.

2. Home Visit

A lift consultant comes to you, measures the space and walks through which models genuinely fit.

3. Design Proposal

A bespoke design for your home, with a written proposal, a fixed price and the list of building works.

4. Approval and Follow-Up

Once the design is signed off, your builder and electrician complete the site works to that list.

5. Lift Installation

On-site installation takes one to five days depending on the model and the number of landings.

6. Lift Handover

Training on operation and safety features, user manuals, and your servicing schedule.

7. Support

Annual servicing, service reminders, and 24/7 emergency support for lifts we have supplied.

A home lift is a mechanical asset in daily use, and an annual service keeps it quiet, safe and covered. Each service covers mechanical inspection, safety checks and any adjustment or lubrication needed, and we let you know when yours falls due.
