What Does a Lift Service Include?

Like any equipment used regularly, your lift benefits from scheduled servicing. It gives our technicians the opportunity to check its operation, make necessary adjustments and identify components that may need attention.

Our lift maintenance services cover scheduled servicing, adjustments, safety checks and repairs for lifts we have supplied and installed.

Our screw-driven lifts do not use hydraulic oil or require a separate machine room, simplifying some aspects of ongoing maintenance.

During each service, our technician will:

We service home lifts, wheelchair and platform lifts and commercial lifts in offices, childcare centres and small commercial buildings.

Lift Maintenance and Repairs

Regular home lift maintenance can identify issues during scheduled servicing, but if you notice something different between visits, such as a new noise or a door responding more slowly than usual, call our team.

How Often Should a Lift Be Serviced?

The right servicing schedule depends on the lift, how it is used and the applicable manufacturer and warranty requirements.

Residential lift maintenance schedules can differ from those for commercial lifts because the level and type of use can vary. Our team can confirm the appropriate servicing schedule for your Lifts for Life lift and help you keep its maintenance up to date.

Regular maintenance also forms part of the warranty conditions for the lifts we install.

Lift Servicing Requirements for Homes and Buildings

Every lift Lifts for Life installs is designed and installed to meet the relevant Australian Standards. Ongoing servicing helps keep the lift operating as intended.

For private homes, keeping up with the servicing requirements that apply to your lift also supports its ongoing maintenance and warranty conditions.

Lifts installed in workplaces, including offices, shops and childcare centres, may also be subject to work health and safety obligations relating to the inspection and maintenance of plant and equipment. Our guide to lift inspection requirements in Australia explains these requirements in more detail.

What Happens if Your Lift Breaks Down?

If your lift stops working or develops a fault and needs an urgent lift repair, call us as soon as possible. We’ll arrange for one of our technicians to assess the problem.

  1. We assess the fault. Our technician will inspect the lift and determine what is causing the problem.
  2. We complete the repair where possible. If the issue can be resolved during the visit, our technician will carry out the necessary work.
  3. We quote any additional work. If a replacement part or further repair is required, we’ll provide a report and quote for your approval.
  4. We arrange the repair. Once approved, we order any required parts and arrange the next visit.

Our team will work to have your lift operating again as soon as reasonably possible.
