3-Level Residential Lifts in a Hillside Duplex – Kiama
This architecturally designed duplex sits on a hillside in the heart of Kiama, offering expansive views across the ocean and the rolling hills to the south.
The homes were designed with a modern aesthetic and a focus on long-term livability, with each residence incorporating a three-level lift to ensure easy movement between floors.
We were engaged after the development approval had been secured and construction was already underway.
Working with the builder, our team reviewed the approved plans to confirm that the allocated lift space would accommodate a three-level residential lift system while maintaining the architectural intent of the home.
During this stage we:
• Reviewed architectural drawings and lift allowances
• Confirmed shaft dimensions and structural requirements
• Coordinated installation timing with the construction schedule
• Ensured the selected lift complemented the clean, modern interior design
The final result integrates seamlessly into the living area, providing both practical accessibility and a refined architectural feature.
The primary challenge on this project was site access.
The homes are located on a narrow hillside street with limited parking and restricted delivery space. Careful coordination was required to manage deliveries and installation logistics while construction was ongoing.
Through detailed planning and coordination with the builder, all equipment was delivered and installed without disruption to the broader construction program or the neighbours.
